Jim Carlisle has practiced law since 1991 and handled hundreds of merger and acquisition transactions. Jim is a partner at the national law firm Dinsmore & Shohl LLP with over 700 lawyers and serves as the Chair of the Growth and Exit Planning group for his firm. He is an in-demand speaker who’s been entrepreneurial-minded his entire career—in addition to GEXP, he’s been active in owning, operating, and exiting various businesses and real estate development ventures.

He has his Masters in Tax, Masters in Finance, Certified Turnaround Consultant (1 of only 500 in the US), multiple business valuation certifications, educator in multiple professional certification programs, developer of global-award-winning value enhancement software (Value Opportunity Profile), creator of the only credentialing program for value growth services in the world, sought after speaker for national conferences.

Brandon helps the GEXP team with business valuations and the VOP. He is the owner of BGH Valuation where he has done over 150 business valuations and appraisals for acquisitions, lending requirements, tax transactions, buy-sell agreements, estate, and exit planning. Brandon has previous experience in public accounting, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and has valued hundreds of businesses in all industries.
Karen writes the SWOT and Executive Summaries for GEXP clients along with other amazing pieces of educational content for the website and accelerator. With experience that spans corporate banking, production financing, institutional equities analysis, and children”s book writing, she understands how to learn about and master new subject matter, and write clearly on complex topics. In addition, the extensive networks Karen has built across sectors, her understanding of the issues that arise in the mid-market, allow her to better support business owners in their exit and succession planning.

Jason is an Associate at Dinsmore with a primary focus on business owners where he develops unique solutions for life and retirement goals through estate and tax planning. He has counseled business owners in all phases of the business cycle from inception through retirement, and he has advised clients through different milestones, including family succession and sale. Previously he worked at Waldron Private Wealth, where he managed complex estate and tax issues for privately wealthy individuals and business owners as well as a regulatory compliance officer at PNC Bank. He also aided the chief compliance officer.
