Our Story & Mission
Ryan, Brandon and Jim met at a National Exit Planning Conference. We hit it off with a shared extreme passion to change the way business owners look at the growth and exit of their company(s).
We come from different backgrounds (Entrepreneur, M&A Attorney and Investment Advisor) but hold the same belief that the advice that business owners receive is fragmented and doesn’t align in a comprehensive plan.
We created the GEXP Collaborative™ to bring together an ecosystem of different skills and perspectives to ensure that each business owner that we work with achieves the successful growth and exit of their businesses. From experience we provide our business owner clients with recommendations based upon good judgment to achieve their objectives.

We believe that advisors operate too much in their own silos and, consequently, business owners do not often have a complete plan that addresses the needs of the business and the owner.

Jim is responsible to architect best-in-class strategies for GEXP Collaborative™ and the achievement of successful outcomes for clients based upon their objectives. For over 26 years, he has successfully engineered outcomes in Growth & Exit Planning; Mergers and Acquisitions; General Corporate; Family Business and Emerging Business and Technology for business owners at Dinsmore & Shohl LLP.

Ryan is head of Sales, Marketing and Strategic Relationships for GEXP Collaborative™. Since he sold his family business in 2014, he has been on a mission to help owners with their Growth and Exit Plans. He is a serial entrepreneur and host of the podcast Life After Business. He developed the Control Hub™ software, which is a platform used to manage everything in an entrepreneur’s business(s) and life, and is also an investor of the family office firm Solidity Financial.
Founder / Principal
Brandon leads the operations and project management teams for GEXP Collaborative™. His management experience spans two decades, where he has directed multidisciplinary teams in treasury operations, risk management, compliance oversight and financial modeling. He helps bridge the elite strategies of our GEXP design team with the personal financial dynamics of each client. Brandon is also a partner at the family office firm Solidity Financial.
Entrepreneur Peer Group Coordinator
Steve is the owner CEO Nexus who provides business leaders—owners, CEOs and presidents practical tools and techniques designed specifically for second-stage companies. Based on the principles of peer learning, these resources are further focused to address the particular challenges entrepreneurs face as leaders and final decision-makers. They include a more productive means of accessing second-stage peers, third and fourth-stage mentors, and selected professionals with expertise in areas vital to the success of growing companies.
Growth & Exit Planning Advisor | Attorney
Jason is an Associate at Dinsmore with a primary focus on business owners where he develops unique solutions for life and retirement goals through estate and tax planning. He has counseled business owners in all phases of the business cycle from inception through retirement, and he has advised clients through different milestones, including family succession and sale. Previously he worked at Waldron Private Wealth, where he managed complex estate and tax issues for privately wealthy individuals and business owners as well as a regulatory compliance officer at PNC Bank. He also aided the chief compliance officer.
Business Valuation & Value Growth Specialist
Brandon is the owner of BGH Valuation who provides certified independent business valuations and appraisals for acquisitions, lending requirements, tax transactions, buy-sell agreements, estate, and exit planning. He also works with business owners to prepare them for growth, and maximize long-term value. Brandon has previous experience in public accounting, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and has valued hundreds of businesses in all industries.
Todd Ganos JD, LLM (Tax), DBA (Finance), CM&AA
Todd is the owner of IWC Family Offices who provides tax mitigation and asset protection planning to families that own middle-market companies. Todd helps owners reduce the tax burden on the sale of their firms by as much as 30 percent or more as well as to help protect their family’s wealth and privacy. Todd helps to obtain an advanced ruling from the IRS regarding the tax character of the sale structure for each client.
Chris is Executive the Owner at MVP Service Solutions, an insurance wholesaler with deep experience and resources. He provides highly specialized insurance solutions to business owners such as: employee benefits, property and casualty, personal, life insurance and much more. For over 17 years Chris has been heavily involved in insustry circles and is highly involved in the Insurance Industry Associations.
Dan M. Zugell CLU, ChFC, LUTCF
Dan is Director/Senior Vice President of Business Transition Advisors, Inc., with experience spanning many financial service disciplines. Dan’s experience includes the formation of MetLife’s ESOP program and as a Director of MetLife’s Institutional Specialized Benefit Resources division. Dan has emerged as a national presence on ESOP matters as a frequently published author and featured speaker and has earned several advanced financial designations. He is a member of The ESOP Association, National Center for Employee Ownership, The Estate Planning Council and the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Ambassador – Pennsylvania Center for Employee Ownership.
